Saturday May 2 2020

Personal: Saturday in The Park-no, I’m not Robert Lamm, this is not Central Park, the Fourth of July or even 1972. At this time things are different both in New York, here and around the world but, this is the day which the Lord hath made; I will rejoice and be glad in it. (Psalm 118:24).

Thought for the day: Any day with my Lord Jesus Christ is a good day!

Friday May 1 2020

Personal: I am a bit challenged in this stage of life. God is good-God is good All the time and all the time God is good! Due to COVID-19 public responsibilities /obligations are paused. We are still under Stay at Home orders but can go out for essentials. Today that would be a trip to Tractor Supply for pet food. Also there are a few chores around the Homestead. In the evening its Bird’s Old Time Gospel Music Friday Night Sing Along. The day will end with the Conference Pulpit.

Bible Student Hub: First and foremost, let all that I do and all that I say bring honor and glory to my Lord Jesus Christ! The Hub started because I could not find a one stop resource supporting the community of Bible Students, not enrolled in a school. My vision is to provide resources for those students to simulate the school experience and support. The start page came along next. It was a dump of my browser favorites after some time of personal Bible study. As my first post at WordPress it is in need of an update. This week I started doing this daily post, a work in progress, Stay tuned to see where it goes. Bare with me, forgive my shortcomings and support the effort. Comments and suggestions are welcome!

My favorite Gospel is John’s-written, that we might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing have life through his name. In Chapter 3 we have a discourse with Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews. As Allen pointed out, in today’s Devotional, We must accept who He is if we hope to have any Biblical understanding. I would add “Ye Must Be Born Again” So today I’m featuring . . .

10600 Doctrine Of The New Birth This is a Level 1 course in the BBN Bible Institute.

Description: This 3 lesson series is taught by Dr. Stephen Davey. He helps the student understand the necessity of being “born again.” This course is a thorough explanation of John chapter 3 where Jesus taught Nicodemus about this eternally significant subject. Dr. Davey is the Founder and Senior Pastor of Colonial Baptist Church in Cary, NC. He is also President of Shepherd’s Seminary.

The Gospel of John The Gospel of John is an eight-week course taught by Dr. Mark Bailey, Dallas Theological Seminary (DTS) President and Senior Professor of Bible Exposition. See more at Dallas Theological Seminary – Free Online Courses. This is taken from BE105-Gospels An exposition of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, with emphasis on the biblical theology of these books, their genre, and application. Find it here: Dallas Theological Seminary – Online Courses.

I highly recommend How to Read the Bible Like a Seminary Professor taught by Dr. Howard Hendricks at Dallas Theological Seminary (DTS). See more at Dallas Theological Seminary – Free Online Courses. This is taken from BE101-Bible Study Methods An introduction to inductive Bible study involving the steps of observation, interpretation (hermeneutics), application, and correlation. Find it here: Dallas Theological Seminary – Online Courses.

If I was enrolled in a Degree Program at Dallas Theological Seminary (DTS) I might be attending BE, HT, ST, OT, NT, CE, RS and PM classes. DTS does offers Online Classes Dallas Theological Seminary – Online Courses. Note: Graduate Courses, “You can preview these courses” My favorite Course is HT with John D. Hannah. Personal: The New Normal – A Work in Progress – Subject to Change Without Further Notice – He’s Still Working on Me! Lyrics (Chords) Candy Hemphill
Words and Music by Joel Hemphill

Alarm did not ring so I got up late. The first thing always is to let CoCoa out, my dog. Next, start the coffee and turn on the radio. Now we feed Sunny, the cat and Let CoCoa back in for his breakfast. Now its some me-time, coffee, BBN Radio news, Daily Devotions, breakfast and Bible Study. At this point in time I’m editing this post. Later on I Will walk the dog, eat lunch and it’s Daily Classes. The day will end with the Conference Pulpit.

Thought for the day: How best can I use this website to bring glory and honer to my LORD and be a faithful Stewart of the time that He gives me? Is there a need for what I am doing? Am I fulfilling that need? When I was in need of a list of resources for personal Bible Study I did not find a list so I made the Bible Study Start Page. My prime objective is personal Bible Study but I’m an Ambassador of my Lord Jesus Christ and feel the call for some sort of outreach.

Personal: Normally as a Volunteer, Work Camper for the US Army Corps of Engineers I would have to open the park at 6:00am but we are still closed due to COVID-19. I have worked for years at Mannheim a few hours on Wednesdays but have not yet been called back to work. In the evening I would attend Bible Study and Prayer Meeting at Bakers Grove Baptist Church. In these days of Social Distancing things are not as normal.

Thought for the day: God’s ways are not our ways. (cf Isaiah 55:8-9) Routines can be good but sometimes we need to stop, evaluate and refocus. It is imperative to trust in God and lean not on our own understanding! (cf Proverbs 3:5-6) Remember blessings follow obedience and curses follow disobedience. (cf Deuteronomy 28 and Judges 2:9-15) And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. (Romans 8:28) I would like to see a time of revival in our land but that will not happen until we see revival in the Church. (cf 2 Chronicles 7:14) I am given to wonder why it is, in our day-in-time, that the church is more influenced by the world then the other way around? This I do know, we our the Church and revival starts with me and you in each of our individual walks with God! On a positive note, In Christ we are more than conquerors (cf Romans 8:37) I can do all things through Christ who is my strength. (cf Philippians 4:13) There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. (Romans 8:1) What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? (Romans 8:31)

Personal: We are still under Stay at Home orders here. My volunteer position with the USACE should resume on May 15. No word from Mannheim as when we will be called back to work.

Thought for the day: I am not a Pastor or Teacher rather an Ambassador of my LORD Jesus Christ. I am not a Scholar rather a Student of his Word, a man of faith seeking understanding. My deepest desire is know Him more dearly day by day. Knowledge that is not transformation is useless and faith without works is dead. To that end I feel the call to service. First service to my community, to be a positive influence and minister to the needs of my neighbors in the name of the LORD. Secondly mutual edification within His Church. All that I am, all that I do and all that I have is the LORD’S! May He be glorified in all that I say and do, Amen.

Monday April 27 2020

We are still under Stay at Home orders here. Normally my volunteer position requires the gates to be opened at 6:00 am and Monday is my office day. I am not going anywhere so its a good day for Bible study. My thought for the day is that I am spending too much time on this website. I hope when some templates are in place I will spend less time as Webmaster and more in actual studies. Still not sure how to use the site but today I decided maybe a daily post would be nice.
