6/4/21

Yesterday was the New Hope Baptist Church Men’s Fellowship. Last month I volunteered to bring the Devotional for this month. I had prayed and asked the Lord to give me something to present to my brothers. May was very busy here in the park and totally consumed me. My personal studies and Church services were attempted, not to much profit at that. You know I’ve been scarcely around this site or on your blogs.

Well yesterday came and despite the prayers and some thought no work had been done. The only prompting was Revival but surly not Lord. Devotionals are short, positive and encouraging. I have not been long a member, been to two of these, both brothers gave their testimony, favorite verse and a thought or two. I don’t know why I volunteered except it was my turn. Not that I lack material I could use. Perhaps I wanted to introduce myself to the men, wanted them to get to know me, what I believe and something of my walk with my Lord.

I should have been obedient and prepared to bring what was on my heart, Personal Revival. My spirit was not right and my Lord did not bless my intentions. I fired up the old Dell and was gonna wright something, post it and read it at the meeting. God was not having that at all, I was long in thought to recall my name, let alone wright anything. If I had been diligent to prepare something, before hand, Spirit may of taken His lead but I did not deserve to be bailed out. While He may have had some mercy on me and maybe someone was blessed in the end I was laid bare before my brethren. I tried to pull a few things off the site, from the One Year Bible, Mandy’s June 2021 Prayer published on Blue Collar Theologian and Jesus in Every Book of the Bible that Bruce Cooper published on Reasoned Cases for Christ.

First I confessed that I was not prepared. “Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.” —James 5:16, King James Version (KJV)

Then I commenced to tell them what a wretch I am and that I’m just a sinner saved by gracethe lyrics. “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” —Ephesians 2:8-9

Yesterdays Proverb was: “Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.” —Proverbs 16:18, King James Version (KJV)

Yesterdays Hymn was: Revive Us Again, there it was again, Revival! —Psalm 85:4-7

So Psalms make for good Devotionals, right? So Off to Mandy’s June 2021 Prayer published on Blue Collar Theologian but first, Psalm 86:8-13 KJV, YouVersionPsalm 86 Explained; by Discover the Books of The Bible.

That would of been a good place to end, but no I went to Jesus in Every Book of the Bible that Bruce Cooper published on Reasoned Cases for Christ.

Again, a good place to end but now I gonna take up Revival, Right? “He must increase, but I must decrease.” —John 3:30, King James Version (KJV)

“Thine, O LORD, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O LORD, and thou art exalted as head above all.” —1 Chronicles 29:11, King James Version (KJV)

“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.” —1 Peter 5:8-9, King James Version (KJV)

“Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” —James 4:7, King James Version (KJV)

“Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.” —1 John 4:4, King James Version (KJV)

There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.” —Romans 8:1, King James Version (KJV)

“I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” —Philippians 4:13, King James Version (KJV)

“Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” —Psalms 119:105, King James Version (KJV)Psalm 119 (verses 105-120)

“Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.” —Psalms 119:11 , King James Version (KJV)Psalm 119 (verses 1-16)

“Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.” Psalms 51:10 King James Version (KJV)Psalm 51:10-19HymnaryGotQuestionsCreate In Me A Clean Heart by Keith GreenLast Days Ministries

I left some of it out, not on purpose, just forgot, but you get the point. If I could have done this on the front end might have been a good Devotional. Seems it took hindsight, it’s 2020 ya know.
